HeARTsy Senior-Centered Programs in Sun Lakes

HeARTsy senior-centered Programs

Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes is thrilled to continue their partnership with the HeARTsy program. Their dedication to helping at-risk senior citizens is a huge help to our community. Thanks to The Greater Sun Lakes Community Foundation for presenting the HeARTsy program with a $5,000 grant. This grant helps support the fine arts and senior-centered programs for residents at Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes.

About the HeARTsy Senior-Centered Program

The HeARTsy program, established in 2018, offers seniors who are at risk, specifically seniors who are suffering from dementia, Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s with an opportunity to socialize through the creation of art. This amazing team works with those at Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes to offer fine arts classes to residents living with these conditions. Senior-centered programs and classes offered by HeARTsy provide residents with purpose and socialization through their hands-on classes and crafts.

Through this creative arts program, the memory care residents at Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes experience art therapy that caters to their abilities. These senior-centered programs mirror Montessori methods of art to allow any senior to participate. Through these methods, residents can create masterpieces using a variety of products. Products can include glass paint, polymer clay, canvas, fine jewelry, and much more. Using these items rather than the basic senior living crafts with paper plates and crayons, enriches the lives of seniors. These classes provide a safe space for creativity for the memory care residents and can encourage a positive outlook.
