The concept of providing active adults a resort lifestyle was pioneered by Edward J. Robson in 1972, leading him to acquire 2,560 acres of farmland to develop Sun Lakes near Chandler, Arizona. After weathering the energy crisis in the mid-’70s, he bought out his partners to do things his way.
The rest is a history of building single-family homes and whole communities for tens of thousands of people who have embraced the Southwestern lifestyle.
Sun Lakes continued to flourish despite record-high interest rates in the early ’80s. Today, Sun Lakes includes approximately 10,000 homes, five golf courses, five country clubs, two shopping centers, and a medical and education center.
SaddleBrooke opened, representing the second Robson Resort Community in Arizona. Today, nearly 10,000 people live at SaddleBrooke.
PebbleCreek, a Robson Reserve senior living in Goodyear, Arizona, was launched in 1993.
Quail Creek in southern Arizona was acquired by Robson Resort Communities in the summer of 1999, boosting sales from less than 100 to more than 2,000 homes.
The first Robson Resort Community opened outside of Arizona. Robson Ranch in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex offers championship golf, fitness, arts and more.
The Preserve at SaddleBrooke is unveiled in north Tucson, offering the pinnacle of resort-style luxury living.
Robson Ranch Arizona was launched for active adults in the southeast area of metro Phoenix.
SaddleBrooke Ranch was launched just north of Tucson, offering spectacular mountain vistas, walking trails, pools and more.
SaddleBrooke Ranch opened La Hacienda Club with indoor and outdoor pools, the fully equipped Viva Fitness Center, tennis and pickleball courts, Esperanza Spa, and more.
Quail Creek unveiled the expansive Anza Athletic Club, followed by a pickleball complex.
Robson Ranch Arizona opened Ranch House, a stunning social hub with ballroom, lounge and private dining room.
Quail Creek opened their state-of-the-art Creative Arts & Technology Center.
SaddleBrooke Ranch expanded with a pickleball complex, dog park, putting green, driving range, practice bunker and pro shop.
Robson Ranch Texas opened the Wildhorse Grill with dining room and bar, extended patios and covered BBQ area. New pickleball facilities were added for a total of 16 courts.
Robson Ranch Arizona upgraded the fitness center, adding premium cardio equipment. Also added were new massage tables and flooring.
PebbleCreek opened a resort-style pool, covered ramada and BBQ dining area.
Robson Ranch Texas opened the ultra-modern Pinnacle Fitness Center.
SaddleBrooke Ranch opened a well-appointed clubhouse with ballroom-theater, the Ranch House Grill & Brewery, private dining room and Creative Arts & Technology Center.
Robson Ranch Arizona expanded their Creative Arts Center by 5,000 square feet.
PebbleCreek added seven new holes to the Tuscany Falls golf course, which now features two 18-hole championship courses.
Quail Creek added to its incredible array of amenities by expanding, The Grill, a favorite with the residents.
Robson Ranch Texas added a state-of-the-art multipurpose room to the Cimarron Sports Club, featuring huge TVs, and special floor for fitness classes and other activities.
Robson Ranch Arizona added event space for casual and elegant experiences. The new Event Lawn accommodates 230 guests for events, and features bocce ball, cornhole, bistro lighting and an outdoor grill.
A new name! Renaissance Luxury Living at Sun Lakes joins Robson Reserve at PebbleCreek as the second Robson Reserve community: Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes.
As part of its rebranding, Robson Reserve at Sun Lakes gets more than $4 million in renovations, enhancing every aspect of the senior living experience.
