Cars, cars and more cars!Car Show | Reserve at Sun Lakes

Robson Reserve residents enjoyed a trip to the Martin Auto Museum and Event Center in Glendale, Arizona, which was founded by Mel Martin in 2005. Wanting to share the beauty, history and stories about the vehicles in his massive personal car collection, Mel opened the Museum that now boasts more than 160 vehicles including classic cars, hot rods, customs, imports, and more.

Held on a sunny picture-perfect spring day, Robson Reserve hosted an on-site Classic Car Show. The event featured more than 30 gorgeous vehicles including sleek-and-chic Corvettes, high-horsepower classic muscle cars, and more. Event-goers also enjoyed a barbeque lunch and live music with crowd-pleasing hits from the 1960s and ‘70s.

Chocoholics rejoice!

Chocolate fans (and who isn’t!) from the Reserve at Sun Lakes had fun during a visit to Cerreta’s Candy Company where they made their own delightfully delish candy bars! Founded by Jim Cerreta Sr. more than five decades ago, this family-owned business is now operated by four generations of Cerretas who work together to oversee production and operations at this iconic West Valley business.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Residents “let the good times roll” during the recent Mardi Gras party. Mardi Gras (French for “Fat Tuesday”) refers to events of the Carnival celebration. This celebration concludes on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. Fat Tuesday is so-called due to the practice of eating rich fatty foods prior to the 40 days of Lent. Masquerade balls are a favorite Mardi Gras event, with Mardi Gras festivities highlighted by lots of beads, masks and headdresses in a bouquet of beautiful colors.

Batter up!Reserve at Sun Lakes Trip to Sloan Park

Some lucky residents traveled to a Chicago Cubs Spring Training game at Mesa’s stunning Sloan Park. Built in 2014, Sloan Park is the Spring Training home of the Windy City’s beloved Cubbies. The Park includes a 15,000-seat ballpark, seven practice fields and much more. Featuring a number of tip-of-the-ballcap homages to famed Wrigley Field, Sloan Park is a favorite East Valley attraction.
